Life doesn’t always go as planned. Everyday, someone is diagnosed with cancer. The Regional Cancer Center at Faxton St. Luke’s Healthcare is caring for people who are fighting it. Working together, we help you through diagnosis and treatment, keeping you informed every step of the way. We look forward to caring for you and your family.

Our team

We know that receiving cancer care can be stressful. Working as a team, our physicians, nurses, counselors and support groups provide for your physical, social and psychological well-being. We listen to you, answer your questions and get to know you as a person. We design your treatment plan to meet your individual needs.

We work every day to set the standard for excellence in cancer care and services in our region. Our commitment is to provide quality care and state-of-the-art technology. Many of our technologies surpass those found at large university hospitals. We are proud that we have achieved “commendation level” accreditation as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Center from the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) Commission on Cancer. And our Radiation Oncology department is accredited by the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO).

How to prepare for your visit

It is important that you gather all the information that you can, and bring it with you on your first visit. These are the things you’ll need to bring to your first visit:

  • Your health insurance ID card
If your insurer requires a referral, please make sure you have obtained that referral and, if necessary, bring a copy with you. If you do not have health insurance or if you have any questions about your insurance, you can call our Financial Advisor at (315) 624-5216.
  • A list of your allergies
  • A list of the medications you are taking
  • A health care proxy form or advance directive
If you need help completing these forms, call our Support Services Coordinator at (315) 624-4673.
  • Sample questions for your doctor
    • What kind of cancer do I have and what parts of my body does it affect?
    • What are my treatment options?
    • What about the risks and side effects of each treatment?
    • Can I receive my treatment in an outpatient setting or will I have to be admitted to the hospital?
    • How will the treatment affect my daily activities?
    • Can I continue to work?
    • Will I need to adjust my diet?
  • Bring someone you trust with you – It’s always helpful to have someone that can take notes and provide a second set of “ears.”

Now that you’re prepared, what’s next?

Register in the Business Office located on the main level near the Cancer Center entrance. Just after you enter the building, turn left to the first door on the right. You’ll see Business Office marked above the door. If your treatment is scheduled in the Outpatient Infusion Unit, you will need to stop in this office to register each time you come in.

Integrative Medicine patients will receive specific information prior to their first visit.
